  • All of the dialog boxes have been redesigned and implemented using the powerful Microsoft Windows Forms API.  This replaces the cluttered design of some of the old dialog boxes that had previously been implemented using the dated Microsoft Foundation Class interface library.   The results are well worth the effort.
  • EnviroInsite is built on a graphics library provided by VectorDraw.  Over the years there have been significant improvements in the reliability and speed of their library and a move away from an OCX control to the .NET environment.  EnviroInsite7 takes advantage of this updated library.  There are many advantages, including an integrated pdf driver, support for DXF/DWG 2007, the elimination of the external CAD file conversion utility, and faster draw speed.
  • In the past, we had recommended to our users that they purchase the Compugraphx hatch patterns to extend the number of available hatch patterns.  We have worked out an agreement with Compugraphx so that we can integrate the hatch patterns into EnviroInsite so that they are automatically available.  These include many standard lithologic and soil designs.
  • EnviroInsite has always been able to read and georeference image files for use as site maps.  EnviroInsite7 significantly extends that capability by serving as a client for Web Mapping Service servers.  This enables users to draw on impressive collections of aerial photos and mapped roads and hydrography available online from the USGS, government agencies, and private vendors.
  • Testing, testing, and more testing to make EnviroInsite as phenomenal an experience to use as possible!
  • The help file contents have been expanded substantially to serve as a full documentation of the EnviroInsite7 usage and features.
