EQuIS EnviroInsite

EnviroInsite w/ EQuIS EnviroInsite

EnviroInsite was originally developed around a simple database schema that was typically implemented in either Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Access.  Realizing the move within the industry toward larger environmental databases that are designed to streamline the import of data from the lab and from the field, we made a decision to provide a modified version of EnviroInsite that can directly access the EarthSoft EQuIS database.  This is referred to as EnviroInsite w/ EQuIS EnviroInsite.  The difference between accessing a database with the default schema or an EQuIS database is largely transparent to the user.  The user connects to database, queries the data, and generates his or her plots.  Underneath the hood, there is a parallel set of SQL commands to obtain data from the EQuIS database.  Also, in keeping with the security protocols established in EQuIS, EnviroInsite users must be granted permission to access facility databases by the system administrator.

EQuIS reference and data tables accessed by EnviroInsite are described at EQuIS EnviroInsite Reference and Data Tables and Fields.
